PushFriday is a free tool I built to help myself as a creator and entrepreneur. After 15 years of reading books on creativity and productivity, I decided I needed guide rails to help me remember the right principles at the right time while I worked.
This guided workflow is best done every morning for at least 90 minutes, as a way of promoting flow and more deep, meaningful work. It helps you:
* stay on track & focused * ward off perfectionism, procrastination, completionism, and distraction * keep you from over-planning or under-planning * produce something of value
It follows the basic, natural workflow of great creatives, entrepreneurs, scientists, and statesmen. First you center yourself, then you develop understanding, then you layer in a solution, and then you place your work into the real world.
Example prompts for finding a priority task.
· "what's the 10% that delivers 90% of the value?" (Bucheit question) · "What's the one constraint, that if removed would lead to much higher output?" (Theory of Constraints) · "What's going well? What recent work should we reinvest in?" (compounding assets)
